Out of body creative processes carve out an intricately textured sound for this release.

Both tracks are based around pieces of writing that deep dive into themes of physical sensation, material and the gendered body. The texts’ sonical incarnations easily lend themselves to being described as soundscapes. However, ex.sses avoids conventionality - sculpting a sound that is deeply personal by journeying through the spaces that she interprets. Using the skin as a “memory palace” field recordings and voice notes are edited into the overall sound design - illustrating how it would feel to be in such materially striking environments.

scanner; a trip through neuromancer/ blade runner esque landscapes is a driving yet club contorting track. It encapsulates what ex.sses describes as the ‘tension between a hard metallic space and a wet space’.
silicon; a nervous build that never breaks. Restless energy defined by dense, compressed and rattling sounds that fail to find their resolution. The transitory segment of the night - laying in anticipation of its inevitable climax.
