Unfiltered and unabashed, ??? makes their mark on Tobago Tracks with their debut EP entitled ‘Rubberdon’.

Rubberdon presents 3 sonically charged lo-fi dance cuts that contort and mutate the tropes of the genre offering a trio of unique tracks that are designed to test the soundsystem.

Opening track ‘Puulsakarubberdon’ begins with a cacophony of 808 claps and cymbals before dissolving into a soothing and melodic piece backdropped to ceaseless kickdrums.

Frontseat is a great offering to lo-fi house puritans, combining emotive synth stabs, distorted drums and endless tape hiss into an unforgettable arrangement of addictive dance music.

Final track Hatch makes great use of chopped vocal samples and ghostly pads presenting itself as an elevating floor-filler.

Devoid of context and an identity, ???’s Rubberdon leaves an eerie lasting impression, raising far more questions than answers and we can only hope that this is not the last we hear of them.
